Exploring the topic of digital authoritarianism and the problems of countries surveilling and manipulating their own citizens to maintain power.
Throughout this project, I will be looking at the topic of digital authoritarianism, and show how specific countries (China, Russia, etc.) manipulate their own citizens. Looking through many sources as well as doing my own experiments on seeing what gets censored in specific countries, I hope to gain a better understanding on digital authoritarianism, and inform people on the problems of this.
For my introductory research, I've been looking at some primary sources as well as other sources giving me more basic information around the topic of digital authoritarianism, and I hope to dive deeper into these problems, taking information from these sources:
